Homeowners don’t need convincing in the importance of house cleaning. Even the sloppy ones have basic understanding why it is important to keep their homes clean; only, they have weak inclination when it comes to cleaning the house. This is why it is common for homeowners to spend money on great cleaning essentials such as miele vacuum cleaners, revolutionary mops and brooms.

Yet, even though you can afford to spend a great deal of money on cleaning tools and even on low maintenance gel pro floor mats and appliances, it is still essential that you understand the level of cleaning each part of the house requires, and the reason behind such cleaning requirements. Floor mats, door mats and welcome mats are great for keeping the dirt collected on shoes and other footwear from getting onto your floor, especially during the rainy season when mud and other wet dirt is typically accumulated on feet and legs of a person who have been outside the house. The wiping of feet or footwear on door and welcome mats will reduce, if not remove, dirt and mud from the bottom of the footwear thus keeping them from getting your floor dirty. Even without the presence of mud and dirt, entering the house with wet feet can make areas on the floor that are stepped on slippery, therefore making those areas spots for accidents waiting to happen. Injuries and damages ranging from minor to serious ones can be attained when someone accidentally steps on a slippery wet floor.

Dust and dirt on other areas of the house such as on furniture and appliances can be easily cleaned by a duster or be wiped off by a cloth. Yet, there are certain cases when a duster or a cloth is not enough to eliminate disease-causing and allergy-triggering dust and dirt. Examples of such cases are the collection of dust and dirt on curtains and the emission of soot from fire places. These require more extensive cleaning such as the use of vacuum cleaners and washing procedures. Pet fur on carpets and cushions is also a tricky mess and may require at least the use of a good vacuum cleaner.

Curtain Material, which is mostly fabric, is like the clothes we wear that can get dirty and stained after some time. Most of the time, curtains get dirty because of the dust and other small particles carried by the wind that passes through our opened windows, that are trapped and collected in the fabric. There are also circumstances, especially in a child’s bedroom, that we spill something over the curtains as well as accidentally touch the fabric with dirty hands. If one doesn’t know how to get rid of the dirt and stain from the curtains, he tends to have no choice but to buy new ones in the future.

The first thing you have to do when you stain your curtain is to deal with the stain as soon as possible. This is because, the longer time pass by, the deeper the stain sink into the fabric making it harder to remove. It is advisable not to rub towel or any other wiping materials on the stain as it would only cause the stain to spread on the fabric. Cotton Curtains and other curtains made from machine washable materials should be washed according to their washing instructions. Silk Curtains may require extra care and one must be very careful when it comes to using stain removers as it may damage the fabric.

It is important to know what caused the stain in the first place as different kind of stains require different removal techniques. Using the right cleaning products and methods will prolong the beauty and quality of the Striped Curtains you own which may be made from really expensive fabrics.

Not everybody may have known this fact, but according to researches, the dirtiest thing one can find inside a hotel room is not found in the bathroom but in the receiving or living area: the remote control.

As much as most people tend to prefer watching their favorite television programs while eating some popcorn, chips and any other kind of tidbits and food, they don’t tend to wash or clean their hands first before holding the remote control. Moreover, when cleaning the room, little things just like the remote controls are often neglected to be cleaned. Thus, bacteria and other microorganisms that can cause illnesses tend to grow and multiply on the remote control creating a greater risk of spreading some place else when another person or the same person who touched it touches other things. As this is not an impossible situation to happen in your own home, it is best to stop the spread of disease at its track.

The best thing you can do is to remember cleaning your remote control often. You can use a cotton swab and alcohol to clean around the buttons. If you don’t have an alcohol around, soap and water will also do. Just be careful not to wet the swab too much so that the liquid won’t get to the inside of the remote and damage its parts. You can also use antibacterial spray or sanitary spray to kill bacteria and other pathogenic organisms that are already present in it.
