Squeaky Clean
Learning how to properly maintain your shower cannot only make it look sanitary but can also make it safer. Even if given the fact that this is a place where you clean yourself by taking a bath, doesn’t mean that this place is already cleaned by the soap and water that you use as you bathe. As the shower is a place that tends to be usually damp because you take a bath everyday and sometimes more than once a day, it is perfect for the growth of mold and mildew.
In maintaining your shower mold and mildew-free, one of the best things you can do is to wipe your bathroom walls or tiles every after taking a bath. It is also good that you slightly open your bathroom window every time you take a shower allowing the air to circulate. Turning on your bathroom fan is also a good way of decreasing the moisture concentrated in the area. By doing these three steps, you are keeping your shower from being a type of environment suitable for mold growth.
To get rid of soap scum on your glass shower doors, you can mix half a cup of ammonia with a gallon of water to make a very good cleaning solution. Put the solution into a spray bottle and spray onto your shower doors. Scrubbing the surface with a stiff-bristled brush and rinsing it with warm water afterwards will make your shower doors clean. After cleaning the fiber glass walls and glass shower doors, it is also a good idea to apply liquid car wax on them to prevent alkaline deposits and water spots.
